Strat-O-Matic Report

This game featured a spectacular pitchers duel in the early stages between Josh Fogg and Cory Lidle. The first hit of the game for either team did not occur until Matt Holliday led off the 6th with, unfortunately, a solo homerun. The first Phillie hit wasn't until Chase Utley led off the bottom of the 7th with a double, at which time Fogg was yanked and Pat Burrell hit a 2-run homer off Tim Martin to tie it, 2-2. Those would prove to be the only two hits of the game for the Phillies. Eli Marrero's 2-run shot in the 8th proves to be the game winner, as Brian Fuentes slams the door against the meat of the order Abreu, Burrell and Howard in the 9th for the save.

Oh and BTW, the Phillies no longer own the worst record in baseball. The Washington Nationals now hold that honor at 5-14.
