September 2, 2006 Red Sox 9, Blue Jays 6
| I haven't blogged anything in a few days because our internet was screwed up, but in the games not blogged the Nats beat the Phils 3-1 to hand Cole Hamels his second loss of the year, the Phils beat the Nats 5-3 by scoring 4 runs off Chad Cordero in the 9th inning on back to back homers by Chase Utley (3-run shot) and Ryan Howard (solo homer), and the Red Sox were embarassed by the Blue Jays 14-4. The Sox get their revenge today despite a less than stellar start by Kevin Jarvis. Jarvis still gets the win despite allowing 6 runs in 5 innings because the 9-6 final score all occured in the first 5 innings! Javy Lopez had the big blast of the game, a 3-run smash in the 3rd and Mike Lowell went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles. |
