August 26, 2006 Mariners 7, Red Sox 2
| The Sox manage to knock out 10 hits and walk 5 times, but still end up on the losing end by leaving 12 of those runners on base. Only 2 runs managed to score, including David Ortiz's majors leading 52nd homer in the 9th. Another decent start for David Wells, as his 3.31 ERA for the year shows, but gets a loss for the effort. The game prior to this one against the M's I meant to blog too, but accidently hit end game instead. Just as well, since they lost that one too. |
