| The Phillies put the long ball to work again today, with homeruns by Rollins, Howard, Burrell and Dellucci helping to put 6 runs on the board and beat the Cubs for the third straight day. I noticed in your blog that your regular season is finished, including that hell of a Rangers-A's playoff game. I am not quite at your pace, but I will get mine done eventually. :) |

The Philadelphia Phillies toppled the Chicago (NL) Cubs by a 6 to 2 score at
Wrigley Field.
Philadelphia drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 2 runs. After an out was recorded, Shane Victorino started the
attack as he drew a walk. One out later, Ryan Howard stepped in and he
smashed a two-run homer (his 39th of the season). Philadelphia finished with
8 hits in the victory.
The winning pitcher was Brett Myers(9-5) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings.
Arthur Rhodes earned his 4th save. Angel Guzman(1-4) was the losing pitcher.
Philadelphia scored big getting 4 runs off him in 3 innings.
