| The Red Sox shut out their opponent for the second straight day, again by a 6-0 score. Manny Ramirez is the star of the day, with a 3-run homer in the 1st inning and a solo blast in the 7th. David Wells gets another solid start, only allowing 4 hits in 7 innings. Mike Timlin and Manny Declarmen finish up for the combined shutout. |

Manny Ramirez rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Boston Red Sox defeated
the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 6 to 0 at Fenway Park.
Ramirez enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He lost the ball over the fence
for three runs in the 1st inning and cracked a solo homerun (his 33rd of the
season) in the 7th inning. Boston had 11 hits for the night while Baltimore
had 5.
The win was credited to David Wells(3-1) who went 7 innings allowing no runs.
