August 11, 2006 Phillies 3, Reds 2
| After a 5-4, 9 game road trip, the Phillies come back home and squeak by the Reds, as 2 Red errors basicaly cost them the game. In the 4th Chris Coste doubles with Ryan Howard trying to score all the way from first. Now Howard isn't the fastest guy in the world, but the Phillies had already scored once in the inning to tie the game up, there were 2 outs, and I wanted the lead. Left fielder Adam Dunn throws the ball past the catcher as Howard scores for the 2-1 Phillies lead. The Reds tied the game back up at 2, and then another error cost them in the 7th. Jimmy Rollins leads off the inning by reaching on an error by second baseman Brandon Phillips and steals second. After a walk and a double play, Rollins is at third. Pat Burrell then singles Rollins in for a 3-2 Phillies lead. Aaron Fultz strikes out the side with a single in between in the 8th, and Tom Gordon pitches a spotless 9th for his 26th save. |

the score of 3 to 2.
Aaron Fultz(5-1) got the win with a nice relief outing. He allowed only 1 hit
and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings. Philadelphia had 8 hits for the game and
Cincinnati had 5.
Tom Gordon recorded his 26th save. Ryan Franklin(6-4) was given the loss in
relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 2
innings of work.
Philadelphia now has a record of a division leading 69-45. With this loss,
Cincinnati has a 5-5 record of late, 54-62 overall.
