At Citizen's Bank Park, the Philadelphia faithful were treated to an
intriguing pitcher's duel. Cory Lidle(8-4) finally bested his Arizona
counterpart, Claudio Vargas(3-11), by the score of 2 to 1.
Philadelphia took the lead for good in the 6th inning scoring one runner
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, David Dellucci delivered a
solo blast (his 4th of the season). The game was a scoreless duel until the
6th inning.
Lidle got help from Tom Gordon who earned his 21st save. The losing pitcher
was Vargas. It was another victory for Philadelphia at Citizen's Bank Park.
Now their winning streak stands at 6 games.
