July 26, 2006 Phillies 9, Diamondbacks 6

Another nice comeback for the comeback kids from Philly, as they fall behind in the first 3-0, get 2 right back in their half of the first, get 3 more in the 5th to take the lead, the Diamondbacks come back with 3 in the 8th to tie it, and the Phils get 3 in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead back and hold on. Starter Jon Lieber walked his first batter in 6 starts, covering 39 1/3 innings between walks.

Bobby Abreu is again a big part of the action, going 4 for 5 knocking in 3, scoring 2 and stealing a base. Like I said, I am not going to want to see him go, or David Bell either because Bell goes to the Mariners before too long. This will be a vastly different team in about a week.

Right fielder Bobby Abreu had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Citizen's Bank Park where
the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by the score of 9 to
6.

Philadelphia erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning with 3 runs on 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Aaron Rowand keyed
the rally when he lined a single. Jimmy Rollins stepped into the batter's
box and he delivered a base-hit. Chase Utley then was hit by a pitch. Abreu
was up next and he lashed a single scoring two teammates. Abreu took second
on the throw. Ryan Howard came to the plate and was walked intentionally to
load the bases. David Dellucci added to the uprising and would hit into a
force play scoring the final run of the inning. Philadelphia ended up with
15 hits for the game while Arizona had 12.

The victory was credited to Ryan Franklin(6-3) who went 1 inning, allowing 2
runs. Rheal Cormier recorded the save, his 1st. Brandon Medders(5-1) was
given the loss in relief.
