July 21, 2006 Phillies 4, Braves 3

The Phillies take the first game of the series in dramatic fashion getting the winning run in the bottom of the 8th on...a wild pitch! Ken Ray came in to relieve a dominating John Smoltz, who with his 1.92 ERA is the leading Cy Young candidate and strikes out 10 today in 7 2/3 innings. On Ray's first pitch, it gets past the catcher scoring Jimmy Rollins from 3rd, and Tom Gordon pitches a perfect 9th for the save.

Ryan Howard was the star on offense for the game, with a solo homerun in the 2nd and the game-tying single in the 6th.
