July 19, 2006 Red Sox 9, Royals 2
| After 14 straight games of alternating wins and losses, the Red Sox finally string together two of something - thankfully in the win collumn - as they paste the Royals again. Gabe Kapler (who prior to this game was 1 for 31 for the season) goes 3 for 4, falling only a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle. Thnaks to Emil Brown, Josh Beckett couldn't quite get the shutout for his solid start, as Brown's 2 homeruns accounted for all the Royals scoring. Brown's first homer in the 7th spoiled the shutout bid, and his 9th inning homer was the end of the day for Beckett. The Sox take two of three from KC, and outscore the Royals in the series, 34-10!! |
