July 18, 2006 Padres 5, Phillies 4

Ryan Madson pitched well enough for the win (and went 2 for 3 at the plate), but the Padres got to Rheal Cormier for 3 runs in the 8th to steal the victory. The Phillies led 4-2 entering the 8th when Cormier went to work. Mike Cameron tripled and scored on a Cormier wild pitch, he walked 2 and allowed a single to load the bases. Cormier got yanked at that point, but Khalil Green hit a double good for 2 RBIs off Ryan Franklin for the go ahead run. The Phils went down without a fight in the 9th against Trevor Hoffman as the Pads steal the win.

Mike Cameron had 2 base hits as the San Diego Padres outscored the
Philadelphia Phillies 5 to 4.

San Diego scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 8th inning with 3
runs on 3 hits. Cameron kicked off the action when he tripled. Rheal
Cormier then bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch knocking in a run.
Brian Giles then drew a walk. Mike Piazza stepped in and he drew a walk.
Adrian Gonzalez stepped into the box and laced a one-base hit to load the
bases. Khalil Greene continued the rally and doubled as two more runners
crossed the plate. Scott Linebrink(2-2) got help from Trevor Hoffman who
pitched great and earned his 20th save.

Cormier(0-4) was hit with the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 runs and 1 hit
without retiring a batter.
