| The Phillies continue the second half right where they left off, with a 4 run 2nd inning being the difference in the game. Despite being outhit by the Giants 12-8 (and only getting 2 hits during that 4 run 2nd), they take advantage of 5 walks by Giants starter Matt Morris. Morris walked 3 just during the 2nd inning.. |

Jimmy Rollins had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at SBC Park where the Philadelphia
Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants by the score of 4 to 3.
Philadelphia did all of it's offensive work in the 2nd inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 2 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. San
Francisco had 12 hits in the game while Philadelphia had 8, but Philadelphia
had the more timely hits.
Jon Lieber(6-3) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the win. Lieber got
help from Tom Gordon who was credited with his 16th save. Matt Morris(3-7)
absorbed the loss.
Philadelphia continued their winnings ways improving their record to a
division leading 51-37. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With this
loss, San Francisco has a 7-3 record of late, 44-46 overall.
