| Cole Hamels remains undefeated for his carer, going to 5-0. Maybe not the greatest start for him, but the early scoring by the Phils proved to be sufficient. A 7 run shelling of Jaret Wright gave Hamels a nice big lead to work with. In the 2nd inning, Aaron Rowand led off with a double, David Bell singles to score Rowand, Fasano singles, Hamels beats out a bunt for a single. With the bases loaded, Jimmy Rollins singles to score Bell. Bases still loaded, still no outs. Chase Utley then blasts one over the fence for a grand slam, and that chased Jaret Wright from the game. Ryan Howard would homer later in the inning for run number 7. Wright for the game would go 1+ inning, allow 6 hits, 6 runs, and also walked 2 in the first inning. The Phils avoid the sweep with the win, and remain in first in the NL East. |
