April 8, 2006 Red Sox 15, Orioles 9
| The Sox take revenge on the Orioles for the previous days pasting, scoring 8 runs in the 8th and winning game number 2 in a 15-9 shootout. Too many offensive highlights to mention, so I put the scoresheet in so you could see it for yourself. Looked like a lost cause in the 8th, when the Sox were down 9-5 after having a 5-1 lead earlier in the game. Trot Nixon came into the game as a pinch-hitter in the 8th, and ended up going 2 for 3!!! Pitching isn't Baltimore's strong suit, as before this game the team ERA was already over 10.00! Especially with guys like this game's starter Bruce Chen, who during the actual season was 0-7 and allowed 28 homeruns in 99 innings! On a side note, very impressed with the Red Sox fielding so far as they have not made an error yet this season with good e ratings. Still getting used to all the new guys. |

Yards where the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 15

Ortiz enjoyed a big day at the plate. He doubled scoring a run in the 3rd
inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park (his 5th of the season) in the
5th inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 8th inning. Boston
bats were very productive in the 8th inning which saw them plate 8 runs on 6
hits. Boston had 21 hits for the game and Baltimore had 11.
David Riske(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Jim
