April 7, 2006 Orioles 12, Red Sox 6

Gonna be a long year if the Sox pitchers keep pitching like this. The Orioles were really pissed at being swept in their opening series by the Devil Rays, and took their anger out on the Sox pitchers. The first 6 batters got hits and 4 runs scored off Matt Clement in the first inning, but then he settled down for the 2nd and 3rd. After a 3-run homer in the 4th by Miguel Tejada, Clement got the hook. Kevin Youkilis got the Sox within 4 with a 2-run shot in the 7th, but Melvin Mora's 3-run shot in the bottom of the 7th erased it. Fianlly had Papelbon pitch for the first time this season just to get him some action.

Coco Crisp has come along nicely since that 0-6 first game. Since then, he has gone 7 for 13. Now if they can just get some decent pitching......

Melvin Mora touched them all and had 4 RBI at Camden Yards as the Baltimore
Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox 12 to 6.

Mora provided much of the offense. He lined a one-base hit plating a run in
the 1st inning, delivered a single in the 6th inning and smacked a three-run
homer (his 1st of the season) in the 7th inning. Boston was out-hit by
Baltimore, 18 hits to 12.

The win was credited to Daniel Cabrera(1-0) who went 6 innings allowing 4
runs. Matt Clement(0-1) was the loser. He was touched for 9 hits and 2 walks
in 3 and 2/3 innings.
