April 5, 2006 Rangers 7, Red Sox 4


Josh Beckett's Sox debut begins bad and ends bad, but he retired 12 straight at one point in between. Texas scored 3 runs in the first off him, and after the Sox had taken the lead he ran out of gas to begin the 7th. Dinardo and Tavarez couldn't hold the runners, as the Rangers get 3 runs. Foulke allowes a homer in the 8th to cap the scoring.

Akinori Otsuka was great in relief as the Texas Rangers topped the Boston Red
Sox by a score of 7 to 4 at Ameriquest Field.

Texas brought 3 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning.
Francisco Cordero(1-0) got help from Otsuka who pitched a perfect ninth and
was credited with his 1st save.

Josh Beckett(0-1) took the loss. He pitched 6 innings allowing 7 hits and 3
walks.
